Previous work experience
My first teaching position was at Salem Church Middle School from 2014 to 2019. Over the course of my time at Salem, I served as the Special Education Department head from 2017 to 2019, and as the Coordinator of Assessment and Remediation from 2019 to 2019. My leadership journey continued at Carver Middle School when I became the Dean of Students in 2021 and then the Assistant Principal in 2022.
Favorite thing about working with students
My favorite thing about working with students is getting to know them as individuals. Our students are some of the most interesting people I have met. I love getting to know their likes, dislikes, families, and what drives them.
When I’m not working, I enjoy:
I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. We love to travel as well as find new adventures right here in Richmond. I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, and getting outside for hikes.
Fun fact
I grew up in two very different parts of the country, Eastern Kentucky and New Jersey near Atlantic City. Having grown up in two very different cultures has shaped me to look at the world from many different perspectives.
